Our latest analysis found that 30% of companies in the MSCI ACWI publicly disclose having a disability Employee Resource Group (ERG). While disability inclusion is gaining traction, significant gaps remain across industries and regions.
𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀:
🌎 North America leads with 52% of companies having a disability ERG.
🇪🇺 Europe (38%) and Oceania (32%) follow.
📉 Asia and the Middle East lag behind at just 10%.
𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀:
🏢 Customer-facing sectors like Retail & Healthcare are leading the way.
🏗️ Sectors with traditionally more manual labor, like Agriculture, Construction and Transportation, are less likely to disclose a disability ERG.
🛍️Retail is three times more likely to have a disability ERG than Real Estate or Construction.
The analysis captures companies that publicly disclosed disability ERGs, others may have it but don’t communicate about it publicly. Public disclosures provide transparency and we encourage firms to share their initiatives, as visibility drives accountability and progress.
